I highly recommend you contact the scoliosis association - I think the number is 800-800-0669, but you can get it from information. It is a support group made up of people just like us - those with scoliosis and family and friends. My daughter is 13 1/2 and has just started wearing her brace. If you are in pain - seek out an orthorpedic who is a scoliosis specailist. There is also a great web site for the Scolisis Research Scociety (I think it is SRS.org but I am not sure) Good Luck
