Hi--my daughter is planned for surgery on Oct. 16 with Dr. Sponseller at Johns Hopkins--posterior, fuse T4 to L3--last weekend we got a second opinion from Dr, Boachie in NYC--he highly recommends anterior, fusing T11 to L2 or 3. we didn't expect to receive recommendations of opposite approaches--we are leaning towards anterior because the recup period seems quicker and fusion is 7 vertebras less. any suggestions or comments on this would be appreciated. thanks so much--we are a nervous wreck about this.
