i read this and chills went through my body. i really can't help you here but i have a few things to say. for one, he will not go for help if he doesnt want help. therefore there is really nothing you can do for him. he has to want to change this behavior before it will be successful anyway. if you are tired of him continuing to drink and decrease his health as he is doing, you may need to consider getting him help by turning him over to the police-if he drives while intoxicated or something. the police, or judges rather, would send him through a program where he would go through it on the programs property, meaning they would keep him in their custody and do what they could to keep him from taking another drink forever. that sounds harsh doesnt it? turning him over to the police....but he needs help and he probably wont seek it for himself...if it is forced upon him he has no choice. that is part of the probation he would have to serve(on premises alcoholism prevention school type thing) he needs to quit before he either hurts himself more or he hurts someone else.
