Hi chris. if you are 38 and the deformity isn't higher than 25 percent and in no pain. I would get several opinions. Its a painful procedure when it is bad but mine was excelled by polio. mine was 90 by the time I was 12 and with surgery continues to get worse. They fused everything but the 7 neck disks and put in 2 harrington rods and now I am having trouble with 5 of the neck I 50 now the surgery was when I was about 30. See someone good in a major hospital. Good luck
