I'm 36 and have had heart palpitations since my teens. My mother had them also. My recommendation is to get checked out by a cardiologist and make sure you don't have Mitral Valve Prolapse. Don't panic, it's not that bad. Believe it or not, most people have heart palpitations, it's just that some of us feel them more than others. If you get checked out by the cardiologist and he/she finds nothing wrong, try to relax and remember that these flutters will not kill you. If you feel them, just stay calm. I've learned to work through them by doing just that. Good Luck.
