Haven't checked this thread in a long time because never had a response. Now I see "Michelle" is asking questions and no one answers. For shame! My PMR lasted three years and is gone. I will be off the prednisone now for almost a year (since last October). However, I did want to warn you that long time usage of prednisone can result in stress fractures. Had one on my left heel recently - had a bone scan - which cofirmed it. The nurse at my Rheumatologists told me stress fractures are very common with prednisone. I also had two cataracts removed this year - no not prednisone -- just aging! I just wanted you to know that PMR can go away. Kay
